Monday nights are Mike’s class nights. He is able to come home home between work and class to have dinner with all of us.
Tonight, we had the pool set up for the kids to play in, since it was 80 degrees and all. They loved it. Not as much as yesterday, but they still had fun. By the time I had to bring them back inside, Mike had gone to school, but he was thoughtful enough to leave a large pot of hot water with a washcloth outside for me wash off all of the mud from the kids before we went inside (I had planned to just use the hose, so this was MUCH more pleasant for the kids!).
After getting the kids inside, ready for bed, and soaking Hayden’s finger – that nail is STILL barely attached (!) – Hayden was ready for stories. He now requires at least 6 stories before you can even lay him in his bed. Violet was super patient and hung out in her room reading books until I was ready to read to her.
Hayden took forever to fall asleep, so that didn’t leave much time to spend with Violet. We did however manage to play one game of go-fish, and two games of old maid. I was absolutely amazed at how well she did with both of them. She won both games of old maid, and we actually never finished go-fish because she wanted to try old maid. Both were Disney princess decks, so that probably helped. She knew all of her numbers and caught on super quick with the rules. I’m looking forward to a rematch!
I can’t believe my baby is almost 4…
