Violet’s First 5k

Violet completed her first 5k in just under 40 minutes on Sunday.

What I forget to mention, is that it was on her bike and we took a break half way through at the store.  Regardless, she had to cross 2 very busy roads (4 total since we had to head back) and go down AND UP a very long hill.

While we were at the store, she asked for a 2 pound container of jelly beans.  Since she did ride a long way for a 3 year old, I figured I could get her a treat, but it wasn’t going to be a 2 pound treat.  Instead, we settled on chocolate covered raisins.

After some raisins and water, we were headed back.  Half way back, I noticed violets blooming next to the bike path.  I showed them to Violet and she stopped so we could pick them for Libby.  She got off of her bike and started to pick “flowers”.  Not the Violets, but white weed flowers.  I asked her why she didn’t want to pick the Violets and she said she didn’t like the color purple any more.

After she picked the flowers we made it back home to find Libby and Hayden washing Libby’s car.  75 degrees in March is pretty awesome.
