A beautiful day at the park – in FEBRUARY

… in Michigan, I might add.

Since it was 60+ outside yesterday, I picked up the kids from daycare a little early because I just had to get out of work. Hayden was still in his pink shirt. Part of his routine when I get to daycare is to shovel in the front yard of the daycare’s house. He shovels while I get Violet packed in the car and then I have to convince him to say goodbye to the shovel. Every day that is a challenge. He loves shovels and shoveling.

We decided to stop by the park on our way home since it was so beautiful. They were super excited. I was too. It’s a great way to get out some of that pent up energy that they’ve had most of the winter. It was really windy, but that helped since it had rained a fair bit earlier in the day.

At the park, we always seek out tennis balls so the kids can throw the ball around on the tennis court. It keeps them running. Getting them to sit still for a picture is always a challenge, but even more so when water or balls are involved.

They decided that they were going to put the tennis balls down the holes that hold the posts for the tennis nets. Of course, these were filled with water, but that made it even more fun! They each took turns sticking their feet in the holes (still filled with water). By the time we got home, feet, hands, and sleeves were drenched.

Hayden and Violet both love to push the tennis court roller around. They did a super job taking care of all of the rouge puddles left from the rain.
