Bread and Butter for Dinner

Last night we were having hot dogs, mac and cheese, green beans, and bread and butter for dinner.  We gave the kids bread and butter while Libby and I had hotdog buns.  Hayden saw that I put a hotdog with sauerkraut, relish, mustard and ketchup on mine, so he wanted to make a sandwich out of his.  He started with the dill relish.  He ate a bite of that and didn’t mind it.  Then we moved to the mustard.  This was not received as well.  He tried spitting it out and then told us that it was yucky.  We then moved to the sauerkraut.  I put a little bit on the bread since it was a very strong taste.  Hayden took a big bite and promptly asked me for more.  I gave him a bit more this time and he still ate it.  Thinking that he loved sauerkraut, I put even more on.  The third time was the time that broke the camel’s back.  He said that it was yucky and he wanted the other stuff on instead.

If I had to guess, I would say that Hayden consumed about half a teaspoon of sauerkraut.  He is well on his way to being a true Latvian!
