4th of July

I know that it is already the 24th of July. So I’m only a few days late writing about the 4th of July, but I’m sure you can all understand.

This was the first year that we have taken Violet to the fireworks. We decided to go to the fireworks show in Muskegon at Heritage Landing. It was a resounding success. She took a little nap with Mike prior to going out, and was able to stay up for the whole thing. She wore headphones to protect her little ears and had no issues with them being too loud – or scary. She was a trooper. When the fireworks were almost done, she decided she was ready to go back to Grandma Paula’s and Grandpa Ray’s house. The timing was absolutely perfect. We were able to drive out without any traffic and still see the grand finale from the car. Not sure if we set the bar too high, but here’s to hoping that we can repeat this next year.

Hayden slept through the whole thing at Grandma and Grandpa’s house. Perfect.

Here’s a video of Hayden and Violet both watching fireworks that were being set off in the yard. Warning: do not have your speakers up too high – this is VERY LOUD. Did I say this is VERY LOUD? CAUTION: VERY LOUD.
